It was taken a year ago. I love this picture more now than I did when I first took it.
Because now I see how much my boy has grown. How that hat now fits snugly on his head and that shirt is too small and those shorts now hit his legs far above the knee. And those shoes. Those tiny shoes. And that ring of pudge around his ankle, it's now long gone. Though he's kept that cute elbow dimple. Thank, God.
And though my husband hasn't changed much from this picture, his relationship with our boy is stronger than ever. My greatest joy is watching my husband and children interact.
Yep, I'll be sapping my weekend away, staring at memories of a baby who is now very much a boy. And I'll be squeezing my baby girl all too tightly knowing that I'll soon be staring at pictures of a little girl who once fit snuggly in my arms.
