Mazatlan or bust

Our family vacation started with several firsts . . . a first vacation for us as a family, a first plane ride for both Henry and Harper, and a first trip to Mexico for Matt and the kiddos.

Considering we were up before 4am and traveled 2,500 miles in one day, the kids were fantastic. It was tremendous help to have my parents and sister on the plane with us, and the bags stuffed with toys and snacks came in quite handy.

Though traveling with little ones is exhausting, it was actually fun to watch Henry discover the wonders of flying, especially because he absolutely loves airplanes. And minus a couple in-air diaper blowouts, Harper was content on our laps, playing and napping.

The dreaded day of travel turned out to be a great start to our amazing vacation.

What about you, have you had success traveling with little ones?

  1. More pics! Glad to have you and your precious babies back!!!

  2. traveling with little ones is exhausting but so worth it. I needed a massage and a nap when we got back lol

  3. p.s. I have to say you look quite chipper for 4am so look fetching:)

  4. The only time I flew with Park was when he was still in my belly and I wasn't even sure he was a he. I can say he did not like the turbulence.

He used to be such a good traveling in the car kids. Man, he's sleep almost the 4 hours it took to get to my parents. Now, he does ok. He needs stops to run (he's a toddler) and distractions like movies oh and he DOES NOT NAP in the car - won't do it. Unlike his mama - I could sleep while driving if I wanted to!

  5. We just got back from Florida (ours are 5 years and 7 months) and lets just say...not as easy as I was expecting. Put a 7 month old in a confined space around people she doesn't know is not so good. But, we survived and I definitely need a vacation after my vacation.

  6. Yes, I am STILL exhausted after our vacation - and we've been home for a week!
