Slicin' and Dicin'

Remember this?

No, not my cute, adorable, baby boy at 6 months old.

My broken ankle, silly.

So basically when the doc inserted a crazy amount of hardware into my leg and ankle, he intended on removing one of the screws after my ankle healed. I think the screw was there simply to stabilize my torn ligament or something like that. But then a crazy thing happened. I got pregnant. I guess that's what happens when you're couch-ridden for six weeks.

Therefore the doc wouldn't operate until after my pregnancy, and well, that brings us to now. So today, at 8:45am, doc is slicin' my ankle back open to remove the screw. Joy.

And though the surgery is minor, I will go under general anesthesia. Boo.

But the good news is I'll be taking fantastic pain meds until further notice.

I'll probably be too loopy to blog anything of substance. So don't expect anything that makes any sense to be posted on here for a few days, if at all.

In the meantime, enjoy your weekend. And if you're in the area, do not miss this crazy awesome program - it's free and AMAZING!

  1. Praying this morning. Thanks for letting me cuddle that sweet precious baby girl last night!

  2. How did I not know this?? Praying for you! Love you!

p.s. I don't know anyone else who's gotten pregnant while on couch rest. You're every woman. ;)

  3. Jess - SO good to visit with you last night. Thanks for giving me some hands-free time. It was a pleasant break.

Marla - I learned firsthand that a leg cast does not limit one's ability to, well, you know.
