How to entertain kids at a birthday party:

Hide colored eggs filled with junk and say, "go find the colored eggs filled with junk."

Give them lots of food, especially foods containing a lot of sugar.

Don't give them anything unless they make it themselves, like their party hats.

Give them fire.

Shove food in their faces.

Shove more food in their faces.

And once they are nice and liquored up sugared up, send them home with their already worn-out parents.

Except for your own child. Make sure you have a nice fluffy bed for him to sleep on, and then sit back, kick your feet up, and relax.

  1. Fun! I wish Parker was born close to easter, I would so do an easter egg hunt!

  2. What a great party planner you are! Love, Ava

  3. Thomas is 9 months and i am so excited about the birthday party i can HARDLY stand it. I am using the party hat idea - I LOVE IT! And other suggestions besides lots of booze for the moms and dads??

  4. Emily - wow, Thomas is going to be one! Yikes. It's been a whirlwind. You'll have the luxury of being outside for his party - I suggest if you have lots of kids, just have lots of outdoor goodies - bubbles, water guns, balls, etc. Can't wait to hear more about it.
